Course objectives
One semester course. The course is an introduction to the study of Chinese language, culture, geography, etnography, society, and politics. The students gain knowledge of key facts of Chinese culture.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to:
- understand and interpret basic realia necessary for culture oriented study of China
- actively apply Czech and English transcriptions;
- interpret the knowledge of basic realia of Chinese culture

  • 3) China and the West, images of China in the West
  • 4) Cultural Anthropology of China
  • 5) The Communist Party of China, Chinese Marxism
  • 6) Basic social and economic problems of Chinese society
