- Course objectives
- The course gives basic information on Polish pronunciation, declination, conjugation, word forming, and syntactic structures. The part of teaching are Polish texts and grammatical exercises.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course students will be able to:
- understand and explain grammatical structures adequate to the course level;
- explain the formation of the grammatical forms discussed in the lessons
- build correct grammatical structures;

- Assessment methods
- The course is completed in the autumn semester with a credit. The credit is awarded on the basis of continuous control (regular tests) with the required overall success rate of at least 70% on average.
The student must fulfil the following conditions:
- continuous preparation for the course (work with the course support)
- active participation in class, proper completion of homework assignments
- regular attendance (max. three unexcused absences are allowed, the exception being students with more advanced knowledge of Polish who achieve an adequate pass rate in the assessment test at the beginning of the semester). If an average score of 50-69% is achieved in the control tests, it is possible to enrol for a resit/retake (remedial test covering the whole semester's syllabus).
