Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide basic knowledge about the development of Polish cinema since the 1990s, especially in relation to films depicting important and often discussed social issues and conflicts. An additional aim of the course is to introduce students to the most important genres, trends, styles and personalities of contemporary Polish cinema.
Learning outcomes
Students after completing the course:
- will be able to analyze selected films,
- will be able to illustrate the social problems and conflicts in Poland after 1989 on the example of selected films,
- be able to define a research topic based on the recommended literature,
- be familiar with the conditions of the film industry in that period,
- gain an overview of the development of Polish cinema since 1989.
