- Course objectives
- The aim of the subject is to gain practical experience with neurorehabilitation of persons after brain injury (traumatic injuries, stroke, post-surgery conditions, etc.).
The student's task is to work in the form of training of cognitive functions during hospitalization with certain patient. - Learning outcomes
- Student will be able to:
- Provide - independently or under supervision - the basic forms of neurorehabilitation to patience after the brain injuries.
- Assess the options of intervention via neurorehabilitation during the hospitalization of the patient.
- Assess the possibilities of intervention via neurorehabilitation or via training of cognitive functions for an outpatient. - Syllabus
- Introductory briefing and short preparative lecture at the beginning of the semester.
- Individual work with the patient during his hospitalization in FN Brno (probably twice a week for about 4 weeks).
- Neurosychological assessment using appropriate methods (if needed).
- Preparation of exercises for individual sessions and keeping records from them.
- Final summary - a case study of a patient with a cognitive training description, submission of protocol on practice.
