Course objectives
The course is aimed on adoption of the basics of this east Slavonic language, its written and spoken form. Students should get the idea of phonetics and morphology of Russian language and the ability to communicate in Russian on basic topics of everyday life.
Syllabus
  • Grammar and orthography:
  • 1. Phonetics and orthography.
  • 2. Substantives – masculine, feminine, neutral gender
  • 3. Adjectives
  • 4. Verbs – present tense (I. and II. Conjugation).
  • Conversation:
  • 1. Greeting, introducing, addressing, speech etiquette
  • 2. Family, relations
  • 3. Profession, jobs
  • 4. Living

Teaching methods
Used teaching methods: lecture, grammar and vocabulary practice, homework.
Assessment methods
To pass the course, the required completion of the assigned homeworks is required and the written test must be passed with a minimum success rate of 75%. Regular active participation in lessons: tolerance 3 absences (80% attendance) per semester, students must separately complete lessons from missed lessons.
