Course objectives
Language practice is conceived as a systematic training in practical knowledge of the language which is intended to create complex language requirements and speech skills necessary for a full-fledged communication in Russian on common topics of everyday life. The part of the course is to intensively train grammatical forms according to parts of speech and their correct use both in minimal and broader speech contexts.
Learning outcomes
After finishing the course, the student will be able:
- to understand authentic texts and recordings in Russian language;
- to communicate in Russian language on topics discussed during the semester;
- to correctly react in various communicational situations;
- to express his own opinion on certain communicational situation;
- to explain grammar and lexical phenomena according to the certain topic nature.

  • 3. Traffic Signs. Driving the Car.
  • 4. Economics and Finances. At the Post Office and in the Bank.
  • 5. Russian Federation: Geography, the Political System.
  • 6. Russian Customs and Traditions.

  • 1. Verbs. Conditional Mood. Verbal aspect.
  • 2. The Voice of a Verb, Verbal Adjectives, Participle, Reflexive Verbs.

Teaching methods
Two two-hour lectures a week. Seminar activities, drill exercises, group work.
Assessment methods
The exam consists of two parts: written and oral.
The written part is the translation of 80 sentences from Czech to Russian that includes discussed conversational topics and grammar forms.
Successful passing the written part is the condition for sitting the oral part of the examination, moreover, the student can’t exceed the allowed number of penalty points.
The oral part includes the conversation with the lecturer on one of discussed topics.
The output consisting of two parts applies for contact teaching. In the case of online teaching, students will be informed about the form of completion in time by e-mail.
The student must attend the course (80% attendance) and complete assigned tasks during the semester.
