Prerequisites
Successful completion of the course RSb004 Language Practice IV (for students of the Russian Studies bachelor program). Russian language proficiency at least at B1 level (for other students).

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to improve the students’ Russian language competence based on the practice of listening, video watching and reading with understanding. The emphasis is put on the active use of Russian language both in written and oral forms. The course develops the students' ability to express their thoughts on the topics discussed topics using new vocabulary, as well as the principles of study essay writing.
Learning outcomes
After finishing the course, the students will be able:
to work with journalistic texts in Russian;
to debate about one of discussed topics, to argue their opinions in Russian;
to write study essays of different types;
to edit their texts using artificial intelligence.

To pass the course, regular and active seminar participation (two absences are allowed) and regular fulfillment of assigned tasks (searching and studying material on a certain topic, preparation of presentations, writing and submission of essays) in time are required.
