Course objectives
The proseminar acquaints students with basic methodological processes. The main objectives of the course are the following: Familiarity with principles of research, how students should treat the subject of their research, how to read expert literature, quote correctly and use it for one's own written work.
Learning outcomes
After completing of the course the student is able to choose the right topic of the seminar work, to select the corresponding literature and to prepare an introductory part of the text.

  • 2. formulation of goals of the work
  • 3. formulation of one's own hypotheses
  • 4. cultivation of defining thinking and expert speech
  • 5. choice of literature and principles of its elaboration
  • 6. choice of adequate format of citations and links
  • 7. elaboration of detailed draft of the text
  • 8. discussion on proseminar essays in progress

Assessment methods
In order to complete the course, you must submit 3 assignments to the submission room in the EFL and pass the test:
Assignment 1: Proposal of a seminar paper topic
2: assignment: topic and aim of the seminar paper, list of literature with commentary
3. task: presentation of the topic of the thesis
Test: citation standard, formal requirements, required readings
Náhradní absolvování
In the case of a study abroad, it is possible to take the course: the student will be in written contact with the teacher, the course will be written down, the required assignments will be completed in ELF during the semester, the presentation of the topic will take place online.
