- Course objectives
- The aim of the seminar is to introduce the problematics of criticism and cultural journalism. The specificity of the so-called critical reason is explained, various types and forms of the art criticism are introduced as well as their historical development. The current cultural journalism is subjected to a systematic critical assessment (training of so-called metakritics), and each student writes several own texts during of the semester, in which criticism of the current art is presented.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course the student will be able:
- to formulate critical judgments in both the live and the visual arts
- better to understand the issues of musical and drama theater in their complexity
- to write a review of the stated project for both professional and daily press
- to discuss and defend attitudes formulated in critical texts
- to understand the basics of exhibitions curatorship as well as the concert and theater dramaturgy - Syllabus
