Course objectives
The proseminar acquaints students with basic methodological processes. The main objectives of the course are the following: Familiarity with principles of research, how students should treat the subject of their research, how to read expert literature, quote correctly and use it for one's own written work.
Learning outcomes
After completing of the course the student is able to choose the right topic of the seminar work, to select the corresponding literature and to prepare an introductory part of the text.

Assessment methods
During the semester, it is necessary to agree on the topic of the seminar paper, to submit 3 assignments to the hand-in rooms in ELF and to complete the test:
Task 1: Proposal of the topic of the seminar paper
2: task: topic and aim of the seminar paper, list of literature with comments
3. task: presentation of the topic of the thesis
Test: citation standard, formal requirements, required readings
Náhradní absolvování
In the case of a study abroad, it is possible to take the course: the student will be in written contact with the teacher, the course will be written down, the required assignments will be completed in ELF during the semester, the presentation of the topic will take place online.

Teacher's information
In the autumn seminar, students will choose a topic for their seminar paper and select appropriate literature for the topic; the choice will be defended in a presentation that will take place according to the agreed order.They will also review the rules of thesis writing, the citation standard and the possibilities of electronic information sources. The first classes are for all students; in the second half of the semester, students will attend classes in two agreed upon groups.

Group I: 9. 10., 23. 10., 6. 11., 27. 11., 11. 12.

GroupII: 16. 10., 30. 10., 13. 11., 4. 12., 18. 12.

Common hours: 25. 9.

Practical teaching on the topic of EIR will take place with Mgr. Pavla Martinková in two groups in the computer room L11: on 6 November (group I) and 13 November (group II).
