- Course objectives
- There will be studied sculpture, painting, drawing, graphic arts, photography and other visual artistic disciplines pursued in Brno within the course. The main interest is aimed at the history of the chosen cultural institutions and particular biographies of the personalities of the Brno artistic stage. Several excursions will be carried out during the course.
- Learning outcomes
- Completing this course will be useful thanks to getting know works of art which immediately surround students in Brno or which are easy accessible. Students will check their direct contacts with art works in front of originals. They will be well versed in questions of fine arts in Brno and they will grasp the role of Brno as an art center.
- Syllabus
- 1) Brno as a cultural centre and institutions supporting fine arts: museums and galleries, art schools, associations and societies, platforms for publications etc.
- 2) Works by painters, sculptors and other artists active in Brno
- 3) The Brno themes
- Notice: The main attention will be devoted to the time from the end of the 18th century to he beginnings of the 21st century - according to the periods: a/ 1780-1848, b/ 1848-1918, c/ 1918-1948, d/ 1948-2023

- The conditons for the finishing of the course: 1) A seminary work in an extension min. 4.500 types; the work will be submited at IS, and eventually also presented; it is necessary to write the used sources (literature); 2) the knowledge of the contents of lectures (it will be prooved through a colloqium).
