Course objectives

Focusing on main Belgian authors.

Syllabus

• Belgian humour and poetry (De Coster, Maeterlinck, Verhaeren, Crommelynck. 1) Specifics 2) Methods of analysis 3) Analyses of excerpts from authors and different media (songs, comics) 4) Oral papers. Oralized texts.

Literature

• Joiret, M.: Littérature belge de langue française, 1999, Dider, Hatier, Bruxelles

Assessment methods

Colloquium - analysis of assigned literary excerpt. Once enrolled in the course, attendance is mandatory.
