- Course objectives
- Preschool Pedagogy First of all, the course pays attention to the family socialization of a preschool child because the significance of family and family education is considered to be of great importance particularly in the period from child;s birth till their entering the school. In a structured form there are examined the main theories of preschool pedagogy (Fröbel, Montessori, Piaget, Adler) and their realization in preschool institutions. Part of the course also consists in a discussion about the position of institutional preschool care in the education of children under six years of age, issues of school maturity and cooperation between kindergarten and family. The whole course is completed by gaining practical experience in the form of a visit to a selected kindergarten or nursery.
