Course objectives
The goal of the course is to acquaint students with grammatical and semantic structure of complex sentence. Clasification of complex sentences according these criteria: a) formal syntactic, b) semantic, c) connecting means. The seminar deals with analysis of texts and is categories. Stress is also put on the issues of syntactical synonymia, equivalence and concurrence in the frame of sentential articles, syntactical relations and parataxis/hypotaxis. The stress is also put on the interpretation of expressions, that are not sentential articles (their origin and function).
Syllabus
  • The goal of the course is to acquaint students with grammatical and semantic structure of complex sentences. Classification of complex sentences according these criteria: a) formal syntactic, b) semantic, c)connecting means. The seminar deals with analysis of texts and is focused on syntactical and functionaly semantic analysis of expressions and their grammatical concurrence in the frame of sentential articles, syntactical relations and parataxis/hypotaxis. The stress is also put on the interpretation of expressions, that are not sentential articles (their origin and function).
