Prerequisites
This course is for students at an intermediate/upper-intermediate level of English. Students are required to pass an entrance grammar test covering knowledge of English at an intermediate/upper-intermediate level. The test will be given in the first week of the autumn semester. This optional complementary course is for students studying the Bc. programme or the first cycle of the five year Mgr. programme.

Course objectives
The course English for Academic Purposes is focused on linguistic academic skills, i.e. an analysis of the structure of texts and their terminology, and the writing skills of basic texts - CV, formal letters and summaries. During seminars all language skills are practised (reading, writing, speaking and listening) with respect to specific academic needs. Further practice of grammar will be included.
