Important frescos of the baroque painting in Moravia, their authors, patrons, history and iconography.
Syllabus
  • Fresco and wall painting in Moravia in the 17th and 18th centuries. Technique and work methods of the baroque fresco. 1. Carpophoro Tencalla - decoration of the Library hall in castle Náměšt nad Oslavou. 2. Andrea Lanzani and his works in the castle Slavkov at Brno. 3. Johann Michael Rottmayer and the decoration of the Main hall in the castle Vranov at Znojmo. 4. Paul Troger and his fresco in the monastery in Hradisko at Olomouc. 5. Daniel Gran in Brno. 6. Jan Jiří Etgens and his fresco in Czenstochow chapel in the church in Brno-Zábrdovice. 7. Michael Jan Fissé and his frescos in dominican monastery in Znojmo. 8. František Řehoř Ignác Eckstein - fresco in the Main hall in the castle in Milotice. 9. Karel František Tepper and his frescos in former Cistercian monastery at Žďár nad Sázavou. 10. Fresco in the Main hall in the castle in Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou. 11. Josef Stern - decoration of the library hall in the castle in Kroměříž. 12. Johann Ignac Mildorfer and his fresco in the castle chapel in Milotice. 13. Kaspar Franz Sambach and his fresco in the church at Sloup. 14.
