Course objectives
The lecture is a excursus to the history of world puppet theatre. It acquaints the audience with the roots of world puppetry, its typical shapes and historical periods. The explication concentrates to the following themes: the origin of puppet theatre, the puppet theatre of non-European nations, the European puppet theatre, the forvard trends of puppet theatre, the theory and aesthetics of puppet theatre. Author aims at the questions of relation of puppet theatre and its expressive means with a no-puppet theatre. The subject will illustrated by authentic documents from the puppets collection of Moravian museum in Brno.
