- Course objectives
- The lecture to the history of the world theatre is based as a 4-term lecture and offers basic informations about the history of the world theatre from its beginning to the present days. In the year 2001/2002 the history of the European theatre from 18. till 20. century and history of the Asian theatre will be presented. The attention is paid not only to plays and aesthetical and philosophical conceptions of the theatre, but also to the developement of the stage forms, acting etc.

- Asian theatre India, China, Japan Theatre of romanticism disintegration of the rules of classicism, subjectivism Theatre in the epoque of realism and naturalism from the historical realism to the psychological analysis, theatre as a copy of reality Modern theatrical forms at the end of the 19th century and in the first half of the 20th century The absurd theatre The contemporary theatre basic tendencies and authors of the second half of the 20th century
