Účast v semináři je podmíněna základní znalostí českých dialektů (tj. buď absolvováním semináře Dialektologie I, nebo semináře k Úvodu do studia českého jazyka, pokud byl věnován českým dialektům).

Předpokladem pro udělení zápočtu je prokázání základní orientace v českých dialektech a odevzdání seminární práce shrnující výsledky vlastního nářečního výzkumu v místě bydliště, resp. v doporučené nářeční lokalitě.
