Course objectives
The course for students who are interested in cinemas of other post-communist countries: Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, U.S.S.R., Roumania, Bulgaria and the former Yugoslavia. Assessment: discussion. Literature: Liehm, Mira & Liehm, Antonín J.: The Most Important Art: Soviet and Eastern European Film After 1945 (Berkeley, Los Angeles, London 1980). Films: selection based on special interest of students.
