- Course objectives
- This optional seminar will be dealing with the influence of the literature of Ancient Greek and Rome on Czech literature of the National Enlightment. A part of the seminar will consist of a characteristics of dofferent approaches of the time to Ancient Greek and Rome in European context. The seminar will follow a chronological line of literary historical discourses: Classicism and Enlightment, Classicism and Preromantism, Romantism and also a chosen set of literary texts by Dobrovský, Jungman, Šafařík, Sušil, Puchmajer, Kollár.
