- Reading and intepretation of selected parts of Platos Apologia.
- Syllabus
- 1. Plato: life and work.
- 2. Platos philosophy.
- 3. Introduction to reading Plato.
- 4.-12. Reading and interpretation of selected parts of the text (approximately two pages of the text of Teubners edition are interpreted during every lesson): translation of Greek original text to Czech (differences between the word-for-word and a fitting translation, looking for adequate expressions in Czech language for different Greek syntactic constructions - grammatical analysis of the text (morphology, syntax: understanding of different syntactical phenomena and looking for their semantically adequate alternative constructions) - social and cultural context.

- Předpokladem k uzavření předmětu kolokviem je aktivní účast studenta v seminářích a úspěšné absolvování písemného testu. Při ústní zkoušce musí student prokázat na vybraném úryvku velmi dobrou schopnost interpretace a správného překladu.
