- Language and philosophy, ontological and epistemological aspects of language. Hermeneutical and analytical approach to language. Mental discourse (T. Hobbes).Hermeneutical thought in Ancient Times and Middle Ages. The relation of languages and ideas, the concept of language in British empiricism and continental rationalism (J. Locke, G. Berkeley, R. Descartes). N. Chomsky and Cartesian linguistics. The concept of language in German hermeneutics of the Romantic period (J. G. Herder). W. von Humboldt's philosophy of language and his hermeneutical thought. F.D.E. Schleiermacher. W. Dilthey.The conception of language in British analytical philosophy (B. Russell, G. E. Moore, A. J. Ayer). The problematique of observation sentences. Vienna Circle (R. Carnap, M. Schlick). Language games and speech acts (L. Wittgenstein, P. Winch, J. L. Austin,J. R. Searle).M.
