Kurz podává základní informace o vzniku a postupném formování religionistiky jako samostatného vědeckého oboru. Pozornost je věnována zejména problematice vývoje a formování metodologických přístupů ke studiu náboženství a seznámení s významnými postavami dějin oboru s přihlédnutím k současnému dění.

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Vstupní podmínky zkoušky: (1)v průběhu semestru 2 testy (50% prameny, 50% faktografie), (2) aktivní účast v seminárních diskuzích na základě předem zadané četby (3) příprava, včasné odevzdání (v IS 3 dny před termínem, 5 stran + použitá literatura) a přednesení diskusního příspěvku k dohodnutému tématu v předem stanoveném termínu. Vstupní podmínky kolokvia: stejné jako v případě zkoušky. Získání kolokvia je spojeno s úspěšným absolvováním rozpravy. V případě výborných výsledků v průběhu semestru je možné rozpravu prominout.
