Course objectives
The detailed survey of the African languages of the past and present, their development and state-of-the art of their genetic classification. The following language phyla are studied: Afroasiatic, Kongo-Kordofan, Nilo-Saharan, Khoisan, plus Malagase.
Syllabus (in Czech)
  • 1. Hamito-semitské (afroasijské) jazykly - semitské, egyptský, berberské, kušitské, omotské, čadské. 2. Kongo-saharské jazyky: niger-kongo (západoatlantské, kru, dogon. gur, adamawa-ubangi, kwa, Benue-Zambezi včetně bantu), mande, kordofánské, songhai, sahraské, krongo-kadugli. středosúdánské, východosúdánské (núbijské, surma, nera, tama, nyimahg, temein, daju, kuliak, nilotské), maba-fur; izolované. ongota, berta, kunama, gumuz, koma. 3. Khoisanské.hatsa, sendwe, jihoarfické. Součástí kutzu je přiblížení jednoho afrického jazyka (swahili).

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Přednášky jsou při výuce kombinovány se samostatnými refeáty studentů o jednotlivých jazycích na základě odborné (esměs cizojazyčné a v našich knihovnách málo dostupné)literatury, kterou poskytne vyučující. Kolokvium probíhá formou rozhovoru o probrané tematice, seminární referát je jevo východiskem.
