- Course objectives
- The recently found fragment of Latin translation of Dalimils Chronicle will be dicussed and read, with accent on its relationship with the Czech original text, on the Language and literary composition. The course has an interdisciplinary character, because some specialists will take part in this course (historian, paleography expert, historian of art, old Czech literature expert, old Czech language expert, Germanist), who will comment the fragment from their point of view.
- Syllabus
- In the first part of each lecture a passage from the Latin fragment of Dalimil will be read and interpreted. In the second part the specialist will comment on the text. If possible, also the corresponding passage from other works of the Czech-Latin historiography will be read and commented.
