Course objectives
Texts for Literary Interpretation The course provides the students with a basic introduction to particular modern approaches to interpretation of a literary work and to various analytic methods. The texts and theories are taken especially from contemporary North American and British literary theoretical contexts. By combining explanation and the reading of texts, we will present the bases of specific interpretative positions and assumptions.

  • Structuralism -Czech and French-, theory of fictional worlds, new criticism, hermeneutics, fenomenology, poststructuralism.
