Course objectives
The seminar grounds will involve work with the most significant prosaic texts of contemporary Czech literary production. An emphasis will be put on their thorough interpretation by the means of an analysis of narrative strategies, temporal and spatial determination, mapping the characters, language, genre definition, reception, etc. Students will compare the texts with respect to each other and they will try to embody these texts organically to the development stream of Czech literary history.
Syllabus
