Course objectives
Doctoral seminars are held once a month during the fall and spring terms. The department organizes seminars in history of philosophy and systematic philosophy. Students are required to attend 3 seminars focused on the theme of their dissertation and 1 seminar in another thematic field (students are required to acquire 20 credits for these seminars). The content of the seminars is based on updated yearly study plans of the doctoral students. The seminars are strictly public, accessible to other students as well as professionals and wide public. The main content of the seminars consists of lectures of the doctoral students (1 - 2 a year) and partial presentation of the results of the students' individual scholarly work. An integral part of the seminars is a discussion on the presentations and lectures. In the course of the seminars students talk about new facts and information and methodological approaches they have acquired as well as experiences from study stays and fellowships abroad. The seminars can be supplemented by lectures by the individual supervisors or invited important guests.
