- Somatic psychotherapy is a part of integrative psychoterapeutic school in which verbal and non-verbal methods are combined. It is process-orientated. Sanotherapy is one of the branch of the somatic psychoterapy. Basic techniques are centering, grounding, facing, sounding, focusing, adulting, methods of manual medicine, methods evoking emotional corrective experiencing. Somatic psychoterapy - sanotherapy deepens therapeutic process and achieves the required change by reducing rigid defense mechanisms. The procedure is very effective in the cases of chronical pathological emotional states combined with acute psychosomatic and neuropsychological symptoms. The students of psychology learn the basic techniques and the base of client and therapist relationship.
- Syllabus
- Program of somatic therapy connects biophysical methods with manual medicine and psychotherapy. It releases spasms, muscle blocks, removes muscle unbalance and opens a way for blocked emotions and to the therapeutic problem. It allows a change of muscle tension, breathing and hearth rate and blood pressure, accelerates metabolism, lowers a level of stress hormones in the blood count, skin conduction and EEG rate. Sanotherapy is mainly interested in human relation problems, not only with other people, but in self-relation too, in relationship of mind and body and its defects and in problems of men in their relationship with transcendence. Sanotherapy works with psychic trauma, polarities, inner child and so on. Sanotherapy activates sanogenetic predictors of clients personality and offers a way to better understanding of other people and self. It reinforces the integrity and stability. People then seek how to stand on their adult feet, keep responsibility and cope with stress.
