Course objectives
Introduction into the translation problematics (lecture). The seminar concentrates in particular on individual work with contemporary Russian short story text, on its analysis and interpretation. The final version of the translated story to be handed out during the semester. Stress is put on the translation methods used in practise.
Syllabus
  • Czech and Russian translation history in brief. Modern translating mothods. Practise in translation of the chosen contem. Russian artistic text. Encouraging in individual translating activities.
