Course objectives
The aim of the first semester is to even up the command of English acquired previously through various methods and to improve students' comprehension and speaking skills, to be able to tqke an examination after 6 semesters at the English department.
Syllabus
  • Week 1: Introduction, placement test. Week 2: SB:pp. 2-7 (present simple and continuous. Week 3:Test: BViU: U1-3, SB: pp. 8-11. Week 4: SB: pp. 12-17 (subject and object questions, past and present perfect simple). Week 5: Test: BViU: U4-5, SB: pp. 18-23. Week 6: Revising units 1-2. SB: pp. 26-29 (grading adjectives). Week 7: Test: BViU: U6-7, SB: pp. 30-35. Week 8: Mid-term test: grammar + vocabulary revision (SB:U 1-3).SB: pp. 36-39 (present and past trends). Week 9: SB: pp. 40-43. Week 10: Test: BViU: U8-9. SB: pp.44,45, 48, 49.(active and passive). Week 11: Revising units 3-4. SB: pp. 50-53. Week 12: Test: BViU: U10-11. SB: 54-59. Final revision. Week 13: Credit Test.
