- Course objectives
- The concept of the industrial revolution, basic sources and literature, the inclusion of the Czech Lands into the process of capitalistic industrialization in the Central European region, textile manufacturing: wool, flax and cotton, iron working, engineering works, coal mining, glass works and sugar mills, railway transportation as a precondition for the industrial revolution.

- 3. The textile industry in Central Europe in the first half of the 19th century
- 4. The importance of the steam engine to the industrial revolution
- 5. The role of foreign experts in the industrial revolution
- 6. The woollen industry around Brno and Liberec
- 7. The cotton industry and locations within the Czech lands
- 8. The flax industry around Trutnovsko and Šumpersko
- 9. Silk and jute in the industrial revolution
- 10. Textile factories
- 11. Ironmongery, iron and steel industry, and coal mining
- 12. The sugar industry as an example from the food industry
- 13. Transport and the building of the railways
