Hlavním cílem kurzu je: porozumět charakteru současné německé filosofie; seznámit se se základy filosofie Odo Marquarda; umět aplikovat Marquardovo pojetí filosofie dějin na moderní koncepce dějin; vymezit hlavní rozdíly mezi politickým konzervativismem a filosofickým konzervativismem (usualismem) Odo Marquarda; rozumět celkové koncepci Marquardovy moderní varianty pyrrhónské skepse.
