Course objectives
This is the first part of the four-semester course of Latvian language. This course is meant primarily for practicing Latvian grammar and vocabulary, as there is another course (BA431) meant solely for the practicing of Latvian conversation.
Syllabus
  • In this semester, we present a brief outlook of Latvian history and work with 1) Latvian noun cases and 2) present verb tense.
  • The vocabulary taught this semester consists of 1) family 2) professions 3) basic conversation phrases 4) languages.

To gain the credits it is necessary to actively participate in the lesson and to be absent from the class no more than 3 times. Type of examination: credit test comprising Latvian grammar and vocabulary.
