- Course objectives
- The course is focused on fairy tales written by czech writers who decorated their literary works with their own illustrations.
The main objectives of the course are the following:
- to broaden students´ knowledge in the children literature;
- to introduce specific features of fairy tales written by illustrators-writers to students and point to the interconection between literary and illustrated part of these fairy tales;
- to learn how to cope with primary and secondary literature.
At the end of this course students should be able to:
- understand the evolution of illustrated children books;
- undersatnd the evolution of modern fairy tales;
- point out specific features of fairy tales written by illustrators-writers;
- orientate in contemporary fairy tales;
- analyze literary texts with the assistance of the secondary literature. - Syllabus
- (1 - 2) Theoretical definition of the course - term clarification, exposition of the position of illustrations of the children literature and specific features of creations of illustrators-writers, introduction of the analysis method.
- (3 - 12) Analysis of concrete fairy tales.
