- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to name the basic ethnic issues of south-eastern Europe, they should be able to discuss tendentious national interpretations, and to express the current significance of ethnic issues in south-eastern Europe.
- Syllabus
- South-eastern Europe and Balkan as an object of ethnological study. Place in cultural and civilisation development of Europe, European discovery and study of south-eastern European ethnics, contribution of the Czech Slavonic and Balkanic studies, classification of south-eastern European population: linguistic, religionistic, ethnic, subethnic groups, ethnographic groups, regional groups, ethnocultural development in historical review, migration as a part of day-to-day life, classification and a character of the migrations, recent ethnic map of south-eastern Europe, Czech minorities in south-eastern Europe. Balkan enclaves and dispersions in central Europe, ethnic interpretations of folk culture in ethnology of south-eastern European countries, Ethno Identification function of folk culture
