Course objectives
Developing spoken skills and communicative alertness in authentic situations; instruction to be carried out by an Italian lecturer.
Syllabus
  • The seminar is to focus on situational practice sessions which are to include both speech and written expression used in day to day communication (introductions, eliciting information, accepting/declining invitations, polite agreement/disagreement, etc) as well as in describing a person, talking about one’s health and the human body. Grammatical structures: subjunctive, conditional, indirect speech. Utterance motivation by means of short recordings, texts, images.

Teaching methods
Lecture: exposition and definitions of basic terms and their exemplification on different types of specific text (recordings), proceeding from diverse registers. Seminar: application of theoretical knowledge on authentic texts (recordings). During their presentations students show their ability to interconnect on their own their theoretical knowledge and practical analysis of a specific text.
Assessment methods
Credit – two oral presentations. Once enrolled, attendance is mandatory (min. 75%).
