Course objectives
Student develops and deepens knowledge of basic grammatical patterns, vocabulary and phraseology of modern spoken Japanese language; he/she is able to actively use the acquired grammar with respect to sociopragmatic factors of the Japanese communication.

Teaching methods
Lecture according to the study materials, with focus on basic syntactic structures and sociopragmatic specifics of the Japanese language. Students also get acquainted with the basic terms of the Japanese linguistics. Additional explanation based on the results of short test is offered in written form.
Assessment methods
Weekly tests, final written exam.
