- Students are eligible to sit the final bachelor state examination if they a) have obtained all the compulsory credits in their field, b) have obtained the credits from the subjects which are compulsory for all students of the Faculty of Arts at Masaryk University, c) have submitted their diploma thesis or (in case students submit their diploma thesis in a different field of studies) their final thesis, which has been accepted by their tutor. Students can sit the examination after six semesters of studies the earliest, the latest after eight semesters of studies.

- Course objectives
- Final bachelor state examination consists of a diploma thesis defence (with diploma studies) and an examination according to paragraphs 22, 23 and 24 of the Study and Examination Regulations. Dates of final bachelor state examinations (usually one in each examination period) are announced by the head of the department.
Final bachelor state examination consists of a written part and an oral part; both of the parts must be taken in the same examination period. Students can only take the oral part of the examination after they have successfully passed the written test.
Aim: final bachelor state examination tests the knowledge acquired in compulsory (and possibly also facultative) subjects of the bachelor cycle of studies. - Syllabus

- Requirements for the Final State Examination B.A.:
- 1. Thorough knowledge of Modern Greek normative grammar within the scope of Dostálová, Franc-Sgourdeou: Základy novořeckého jazyka (Basics of Modern Greek) and the subject of Modern Greek Syntax
- 2. Independent command of both spoken and written Modern Greek language on elementary level (a translation of a Czech text into Modern Greek without the use of a dictionary constitutes a part of the examination).
- 3. Good knowledge of Modern Greek literature of the 19th and the 20th centuries within the scope of the studies (subjects Modern Greek Literature of the 19th Century and Modern Greek Literature of the 20th Century). - 4. General knowledge of the history of Greece of the 19th and the 20th centuries, including life and customs (subject History of Greece of the 19th and the 20th centuries).
- 5. Good knowledge of Ancient Greek literature within the scope of subjects History of Ancient Greek literature I and II.
- 6. Being well-read in Modern Greek literature, both in original and in translations, at least within the scope of compulsory readings, see http://www.phil.muni.cz/wuks/w-studium/studijni-obory/bakalarske/novorecky-jazyk-a-literatura/povinna-cetba/.
