- Course objectives
- At the end of the course, the students should be able to interpret the texts of Laments (Planctus) of Peter Abaelard from the linguistic perspective; to describe the aesthetics of the verses (literary genre, metrics, rhythm, metaphors, allegory) as well as the content; to identify the relation of the texts to the biblical models; to recognize the general principles of medieval Latin poetry.

- Seminars 2 hours per week, reading with translation and exegesis, class discussions.

- Active class participation (class discussion), min. 75%; proving the ability to translate and interpret the text; credit.
