- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to learn the basic rules of translations from Croatian/Serbian/Bulgarian to Czech, new lexical items from the areas of linguistics, literature, politics, history, law, economy, natural sciences etc. At the end of the course students will - be able to demonstrate the knowledge of Croatian/Serbian/Bulgarian. - have a broader and more solid understanding of key aspects of translating. - have a broader and more solid understanding of key aspects of comparative study of Slavonic languages - be familiar with Slavonic grammar.
- Syllabus
- Every seminar has the following structure: 1. short presentation of a certain problem of translation (based on a project from a translatology study); 2. team work on translation of a Croatian, Serbian, or Bulgarian text; 3. reading of the translated text and discussion.
