Course objectives
Students should get familiar with the problematic of the motion picture material and its preservation for future generations in the archives. At the end of the course, students will have:
- basic knowledge of audiovisual media supports and their preservation;
- overall information on institutions preserving film and other audiovisual material, their history, typology and present situation;
- apprehension of the process of restoration of film, based on selected case studies;
- knowledge of digital supports and their use in a film archive.
