Course objectives
The seminar deal about the situation of the Moravian nobleman i the new civil society in the second half of the 19.century, mainly on the example of the house of Mitrovsky. The main accent should be given on the lifestyle of the nobleman in the contrast with the civil society. In detail the student should learn something about the literature, then the situation of the aristocracy after year 1848(for example problem of the self-goverment and fideiccommisum), inspiration sources of the traditions of the house(influence of the Great Britain, conservatism, romanticism), the importance of the seat of the house, rebuiding this seats, arrangement of the parks next the catsles and so on), then the life of the nobleman(birth, wedding, death of the nobleman) eventually the relation with the rest of the society.

  • - literature and sources - aristocracy generally - situation of aristocracy ofter 1848 - inspiration sources of house tradition(Great Britain, conservatism, romantism) - family seat(contemporary rebuilding, parks) - adaption of interiors - life of the nobleman(birth, wedding, death) - interests of the nobleman(hunts, balls, year cyckle, travelling...) - familly tomb(also contemporary rebuilding, symbology) - nobleman and civil society
