- Course objectives
- The main objective of the course is to acquire the basics of this West Slavonic language, both in its written and spoken form. Participants of this course are supposed to acquire knowledge of the phonology and morphology of the Upper Sorbian language and an ability to communicate in this language on everyday life topics.

- Introduction to Upper Sorbian phonology & phonetics, the Upper Sorbian alphabet and pronunciation Introduction to Upper Sorbian morphology, Upper Sorbian noun a adjective declination and verb conjugation patterns Conversation: greetings, wishes, expressions of gratitude, in various conversational situations Upper Sorbian music and poetry: examples of songs and poems, listening exercises Vocabulary from the semantic fields ‘Life in the Country’ and ‘Animals and Plants’ Vocabulary from the semantic fields ‘Human Body’ and ‘Clothing’ Numerals Personal and demonstrative pronouns, question words Writing a letter
