Course objectives
Lectures on various aspects of brazilian society. Cultural Studies.
Syllabus
  • The course aims to introduce general facts about Brazil. Topics to be covered include geography, demographic make-up of the population, political, economic and cultural issues. Special attention is given to the various regional points of cultural interest.

Teaching methods
Analysis of subjects related to the general aspects of the Brazilian reality, from reflections, texts and discussions in class.
Assessment methods
Credit – short oral interview structured around a given topic, written exam. Lecture and seminar attendance is not mandatory; all sessions are taught in Portuguese.
