- Course objectives
- Main objective of the lectures is an overview of healing practices relating to a religiosity since prehistory till nowadays. The interference between religiosity and an image of a body, mind and disease. Etiology of illness and the influence of religious traditions on medicine ethics.

- Introduction
- Relationship between medicine and religion by D. Amundsen, status of a healer, illness and health in a significant framework
- Magical-animistic conceptions, symbolism, analogy, shaman
- Antiquity
- Islamic medicine
- Jewish medicine
- Christianity: Early church, Middle Ages, symbolic thinking, women and healing, medical ethics
- Protestant traditions
- Renaissance, Englightenment, 19.century
- Origin of alternative and complementary therapies, AIDS, social theories
- Assessment methods
- Lectures
Homework - "Jesus as a healer" - an analyse of this character, its features (1-2 A4)
