- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to repeat basic nominal and verbal paradigms, translate elementary texts, practise an elementary conversation, categorize Finnish words, construct basic syntagmata and clauses and assess their grammatical correctness.

- Lectures, class discussion, reading, drills.
- Assessment methods
- The final exam consists of two parts: a written test and an oral exam. The written test targets knowledge of grammar, the oral exam is limited to basic topics like sports, health, popular culture etc. Proper use of grammar is the main object of evaluation.
