Course objectives
The goals of course BA207L is to review and perfect information on Lithuanian language gained in the courses of the language system (BA201L) and practical Lithuanian (BA203L). In the second year of Baltic studies we aim effort mainly on communicative skills. At the end of the course students should be able to: - improvise in Lithuanian in the "real" communicative situation (i. e. without prepration) - reproduce spoken text in his/her own words.

  • Intonation patterns of the Lithuanian sentence
  • Using Lithuanian nominal syntagma (drill)
  • Using Lithuanian verbal syntagma (drill)
  • Using participial constructions (drill)

Assessment methods
Two written translations: one to the Lithuanian and one from the Lithuanian. Final exam: conversation in Lithuanian plus written test.
