- Course objectives
- At the end of the course Business Communication, students should be able to write well-structured, efficient business letters. The course deals with several kinds of business letters, that is to say letters of notification, request letters, letters of complaint and letters of application. Attention will also be given to the curriculum vitae. A wide variety of sample letters will be provided, as well as an oversight of fixed expressions and useful vocabulary. An intermediate level of Dutch is required as a condition for following this source.
Structure of each course:
Every class starts with discussing a sample letter. Subsequently vocabulary, fixed expressions and grammar are provided. A blanks exercise tests the knowledge of vocabulary. Thereupon students get a letter with blanks which they have to copy out while completing the missing words and sentences. Every class ends with a writing exercise based on the outline of a situation. - Syllabus
